Moving Families Initiative

The Moving Families Initiative® (MFI) is an international plan focused on serving, protecting, and meeting the needs of parents moving or relocating with children, ages 19 and younger, including the teachers and coaches who work with their children.

Millions of children move with their families every year, but the emotional and physical strain of changing schools, neighborhoods and friends is rarely addressed. The Moving Families Initiative® aims to alleviate the stress that inevitably comes with moving. It’s important that kids develop the behavioral skills to thrive socially and emotionally in a new climate.

At the heart of the Moving Families Initiative® is a short animated children’s DVD, The Great Moving Adventure, which helps young children deal with the emotional and physical impact of moving. The DVD is meant to be given as a gift from a participating real estate agent specifically to a family moving with young children.

If you’re considering moving or relocating your family with young children, newborns to 19 years old, you are encouraged to visit to register and get connected to a certified Moving Families Initiative® Preferred Real Estate Agent™
