When individuals are isolated from their families and/or community, they are at greater risk for poor health. When parents move with children, they are often times leaving a connected community and moving into a (hopefully temporary) state of isolation. Getting connected into the new community is not just critical to a successful transition, it is critical for good health.
This article in Business Insider cites a study published in 2016 that showed the negative health impact of social isolation started early, in adolescence, and continued through the life span. For this reason, and many more, parents need to be connected to resources that can help ease the stress of moving.
The Moving Families Initiative® provides a variety of resources that can help reduce the stress parents experience when they are moving or relocating with their family. One such resource is getting connected with a MFI Preferred Real Estate Agent™. To get a better idea of some of the ways they can help, check out this previous blog post about trusted advisor, Debbi Hester, one of our MFI Preferred Real Estate Agent™ in Texas.
