In February of this year the Moving Families Initiative® (MFI) kicked off a US Tour to educate and raise awareness about the Initiative across the country. One of the aims of the tour is to build strong relationships with grassroots leaders and organizations who are working to address access to high quality education, children’s extracurricular activities, affordable housing and economic opportunities for families. One primary area of focus in building these relationships is to connect families who are moving with extracurricular activities organizations to achieve one of the MFI’s four goals: to encourage and assist kids in getting and staying active in extracurricular activities of their choice.
The MFI launched a Connectivity Platform to help make this easier. Parents who are moving with children under the age of 19 know how stressful life becomes. It can feel as if there are 1,000 competing priorities and no one seems to be in control. With one mouse click, families who are moving can access an abundance of resources including registering to get connected with a MFI Preferred Real Estate Agent™ of their choice.
Research has shown how important extracurricular activities are in the lives of children and their families. From simply expanding horizons to boosting academic performance and improving life skills, extracurricular activities are good for kids. When kids move with their families, extracurricular activities keep a sense of normalcy in their lives and provide them with a group of like-minded kids to help form friendships in their new location.
On the MFI Connectivity Platform, parents can get access to extracurricular organization that have partnered with MFI to raise awareness and connect with kids who are moving. With one click families can keep their kids involved and find the team or club in their new location.
No parent should have to move without a written game plan. To get connected with a Moving Families Initiative® Preferred Real Estate Agent™, visit www.movingfamiliesinitiative.com.
